The working principle of the new rotary evaporator is based on the heat transfer principle of the rotary evaporator. It consists of a porous spiral longitudinal axis and a concentric cylindrical shell. No matter homogeneous or heterogeneous materials, they are forced to be added into the evaporator under internal and external conditions. A small number of scrapers in the cylinder can expand the uniform flow film on the inner wall of the cylinder and develop into a very thin liquid-liquid film. Together with the coagulation, sedimentation and separation line formed by the bath bottom rod on the mechanical hanger left on the outer side of the cylinder, the working process of the rotary evaporator is started.
Heat transfer is one of the important working principles of rotovap. This working principle is based on the fact that there are countless tiny liquid film layers in the equipment. These liquid film layers have the same thickness. This enables external media-for example, another gas, hot gas, water, etc.-to easily penetrate the film and exchange heat with it. In this process, both of them change state at the same time due to the exchange of heat. This is one reason why we can upgrade the mixture in the stock solution with a rotary evaporator.
Rotary evaporator equipment is mainly used for concentration, crystallization, drying, separation and solvent recovery in pharmaceutical, chemical and biopharmaceutical industries. Its principle is that under the vacuum condition, the rotary bottle is heated at a constant temperature, so that the material rotates at a constant speed, and a large-area film is formed on the bottle wall, which is evaporated efficiently. Solvent vapor is cooled by high-efficiency glass condenser and recovered in the collection bottle, which greatly improves the evaporation efficiency. It is especially suitable for the concentration and purification of biological products that are easily decomposed and denatured at high temperature.
New functions of new chemical rotary evaporator
Anti-scald
- Heat insulation layer: Heat insulation layer is set inside the equipment to reduce heat conduction to the external surface. This can be achieved by adding thermal insulation materials to the equipment wall or adopting multi-layer structure.
- Cooling system: Equipped with cooling system, which can take away heat by circulating water or other cooling media to reduce the temperature of equipment. This can reduce the external surface temperature, thus reducing the risk of burns.

Antifoaming
- Liquid level control: A liquid level control device is installed inside the equipment, which can adjust the liquid level in time to avoid foam generated by too deep or too shallow liquid level.
- Gas nozzle: The gas nozzle is arranged inside the equipment, which can inject gas into the liquid and destroy the formation and accumulation of foam.
Anti-suction
- Non-return valve: A non-return valve is set inside the equipment to prevent the liquid from reversely flowing into the feed pipeline during backward suction.
- Backdraft valve: Backdraft valve is set inside the equipment. When the liquid is backdraft, it will automatically close the valve to prevent the liquid from flowing backwards.
