Multi-directional rotation design

The rotating key usually integrates the functions of rotation and axial displacement, and is connected to the key parts of the distillation kit such as the cold trap interface, feed port, and fraction collection port through a threaded or snap-fit structure.

The rotating key of the cold trap interface needs to simultaneously meet the requirements of 360° rotation (adjusting the Angle of the condenser tube) and axial compression (ensuring that the compression rate of the fluororubber sealing ring reaches 20%-30%).

Vacuum sealing mechanism

Metal-metal dynamic sealing: The contact surface between the key and the kit is ground with high precision (surface roughness Ra≤0.4μm), and the micro-gaps are filled with vacuum grease (such as Apiezon L), and the ultimate vacuum degree can reach 10⁻³ Pa.

Emergency sealing compensation: When the vacuum degree drops sharply, the axial pressure can be increased through the fine-tuning knob of the key to temporarily restore the seal (but the worn sealing ring needs to be replaced later).

Path switching function

The multi-channel valve core inside the rotating key switches the fluid path of feeding → distillation → condensation → collection through rotation. For example:

Mode 1: Rotate the key to the "Distill" position, connect the feed pipe to the evaporation surface, and simultaneously close the residue discharge port.

Mode 2: Rotate to the "Purge" position and introduce nitrogen to clean the pipeline to prevent cross-contamination.

 

Dynamic flow regulation

Some high-end models are equipped with micro-scale dials (each division corresponds to a 0.1mm valve core displacement), which can precisely control the flow rate of fractions (such as 0.1-5 mL/min), meeting the separation requirements of components with different boiling points.
