Description

Technical Parameters

Magnetic chemical stirrer is a laboratory equipment commonly used for mixing or stirring liquids. It consists of a rotating magnet (usually housed in a plastic or metal casing) and a magnetism stirring rod placed inside a liquid container. When an external magnet is activated, it generates a rotating magnetism field that rotates the stirring rod, effectively mixing the liquid. The base, as the core part of the mixer, integrates multiple key components such as motors, magnets, and heating elements. These components work together to enable the mixer to efficiently and accurately complete the mixing task, and can adjust the temperature of the sample as needed.

Whether in scientific research, chemical production, or food processing, the pedestal plays an indispensable role, providing strong support for various experiments and production processes. This type of mixer is popular in chemical and biological laboratories because it is simple, effective, and has no moving parts that may contaminate the sample. It is also easy to control the mixing speed, which is crucial in some experiments. It is widely used in various fields such as chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and environmental science.

Product Application

The agitator finds applications in a wide range of scientific fields, including chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and materials science. It is commonly used for mixing solutions, homogenizing suspensions, and preparing samples for analytical techniques. Its versatility and efficiency make it an essential tool in modern laboratories.

◆ Chemical Reactions

In chemical reactions, agitators provide uniform mixing, ensuring that reactants are continuously and evenly distributed throughout the solution. This is crucial for achieving accurate reaction rates and consistent results. By adjusting the stirring speed, researchers can control the intensity of mixing, optimizing it for the specific requirements of the reaction.

Solubility Studies

Agitators are also used in solubility studies where the dissolution rate of a solid in a liquid need to be determined. The controlled agitation provided by the blender enhances the rate of dissolution by breaking up solid particles and increasing the contact area between the solid and the solvent.

Biochemical Assays

In biochemical assays, agitators are used to mix solutions containing enzymes, substrates, or other biological molecules. Gentle mixing ensures that these delicate components are not damaged while still allowing for efficient interaction between them. This is particularly important in enzyme kinetics studies where maintaining enzyme activity is crucial.

◆ Cell Culture

In cell culture experiments, agitators are employed to mix media and reagents, ensuring that cells receive a consistent supply of nutrients and growth factors. Additionally, they can be used to suspend cells evenly in solution for procedures like cell counting or staining.

◆ Polymerization Reactions

Polymerization reactions often require vigorous mixing to initiate and sustain the reaction. Agitators provide the necessary agitation while allowing for precise temperature control, which is essential for optimizing polymer properties.

Analytical Chemistry

In analytical chemistry, agitators are used for sample preparation, including the dilution and homogenization of samples. They also facilitate titrations by ensuring thorough mixing of titrant and analyte solutions.

Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring laboratories use agitators to mix water or soil samples with reagents for chemical analysis. The controlled mixing ensures accurate and reproducible results, essential for assessing environmental contaminants or pollutants.

Liquid and container requirements

Liquid requirement

Liquid type

Magnetic chemical stirrers can be used for many types of liquids, such as aqueous solutions, organic solvents, acid-base solutions, etc. However, it should be noted that for liquids that are highly corrosive, flammable and explosive or easily decomposed at high temperatures, they should be used with caution, and suitable agitators and protective measures should be selected according to the experimental needs.

Liquid quantity

The amount of liquid should be moderate, not too much or too little. Too much liquid may cause the mixer to be unable to rotate freely, affecting the mixing effect; Too little liquid may expose the mixer to air, resulting in uneven mixing or overheating of the mixer.

Liquid viscosity

The viscosity of the liquid also affects the mixing effect. For liquids with higher viscosity, longer mixing times and higher mixing speeds may be required to achieve the desired mixing effect. At the same time, liquids with larger viscosity may not be easy to transfer heat when heated, so special attention should be paid to controlling the heating temperature and time when using the heating function.

Container material:

Containers should be made of non-ferromagnetic materials, such as glass, ceramic, plastic, etc. Avoid using containers made of ferromagnetic materials, as ferromagnetic materials will interfere with the magnetic field of the magnetic stirrer and affect the mixing effect.

Container shape:

The shape of the container should be suitable for the use of the magnetic stirrer. In general, a more elongated container can reduce turbulence and prevent overflow. At the same time, the bottom of the container should be flat and moderately thick to ensure that the blender can be tightly combined to evenly stir the liquid.

Container capacity:

The capacity of the container should match the amount of liquid. Too large a container may cause the liquid not to stir well; If the container is too small, the mixer may not be able to rotate freely or easily touch the container wall.

Container heat resistance:

If the experiment requires heating and stirring, a container with good heat resistance should be selected, such as a container made of Pyrex or ceramic. Avoid using containers that are susceptible to heat deformation, so as not to affect the mixing effect and experimental safety.

Container cleanliness:

Before use, ensure that the container is clean and free of impurities. Residual impurities may affect the mixing effect and experimental results. Therefore, after the end of the experiment, the container and stirrer should also be cleaned in time to maintain their cleanliness.
